I stumbled upon this picture while organizing my photos.
This was taken at Twin Peaks in San Francisco only 3 months ago, but it feels like MUCH longer ago because that jacket doesn't fit him anymore!
This was such a fun trip with beautiful scenery. We were so lucky to have visited some amazing places in 2017.

Sleet, ice, wintry mix...whatever, to the kids it's SNOW...AGAIN...in Houston! The whole city came to a halt because we don't know how to drive in this rain, so schools are closed and the authorities are urging people not to drive.
It was mostly icy rain, which was slippery and dangerous, but it eventually slowed just enough to make it safe and fun to go play in the back yard.
Today was the Houston Chevron Marathon! We cheered on the runners last year and had so much fun, so we went to that same 21 mile marker spot. My friend Angie was running it so we played her favorite song on our boombox and waited for her.
We spent the night before trying to come up with entertaining signs for the runners!

Took the kids out to a local restaurant that had live music and outdoor fires going. We brought our FIREKI reusable stainless steel cups that added a pop of color to the table!
His hair grew at a snail's pace the first two years of his life. Now he seems to need a haircut every week! Fortunately he has a personal at-home stylist: Abuela.
I experimented with a tiny flash diffuser today. Here's a photo of my favorite couch cushion.
The camera was set to the same setting for all photos. 1/250 sec, 50mm at f 1.8, ISO 1250.
The diffuser allows for the flash to be less harsh while still providing a clearer picture. I plan to start incorporating this to more of my indoor photography. I just don't want to distract or blind my subjects.

I happened to catch my daughter giving some loving snuggles to her favorite toy. Coincidentally, I just learned some mother/baby photography poses today, so the timing was perfect for practice.
I am so behind with my 365 project that I have decided to just pick up where I left off and add 9 new photos - one for each day so far in 2018.

I intended to photograph how nicely he'd lined up his trains, but I love his expression in the background. He's so amused even after almost 2 years of playing with these same toys daily.

The sun finally came out just in time for the weekend Farmer's Market! We were out of honey and found some local Lime-flavored honey!
Stopped at the park on the way home. It was finally dry and didn't make their hands freezing cold.

It's almost Christmas and the camera has been sitting out a while.
Today the cousins came over and the kids had a blast enjoying each other's company.
A lot on my plate this week, so did not take daily pictures. However, it SNOWED in HOUSTON two nights ago, so we woke up to beautiful snow covering the lawns, trees, and houses. It lasted just enough for the kids to play in it!

Happy Thanksgiving! We went to the parade downtown then had cool-breeze-open-windows type of day at home. The kids played and danced to Christmas music while we prepared dinner. I am most thankful for the healthy, wonderful kids photographed here:

The weather here lately has made it hard not to be outside. Every day, right around 4pm, the kids ask where their big blanket is so they can have a picnic. Today's snack was oatmeal and chicken nuggets. Classy.
